In-home balance training
Train your balance in the rooms you use daily
In-home balance and strength coaching for older adults who want to feel more secure on stairs, get up from a chair or the floor with less effort, and keep managing daily life at home.
What to expect
Balance is a skill you practice, and the place you practice it matters. Sound Fitness coaches it in your own home, so the work happens on your stairs, your rugs, your thresholds, and the chair you get out of every morning, instead of on gym equipment.
Lower-body strength with stepping, turning, and steady-position practice
Practice getting up from a chair, the floor, and the bottom step
Training on your own stairs, rugs, thresholds, and lighting
Regular updates for the family member who set the training up
Session flow

Your coach asks what feels unsteady, what you have stopped doing, and what your doctor or physical therapist has already told you. That guidance sets the boundaries of what training does and does not include.

The plan starts from what is actually there: how you rise from your chair, how you turn in the kitchen, and where the stairs, rugs, thresholds, and handrails sit.

Strength comes first, then the movements the strength is for, like standing without pushing off the armrests, stepping around furniture in a narrow hallway, and carrying groceries in from the car.
The list stays short on purpose and is sized for an ordinary day, so the practice continues on the days your coach is not there.
Good fit if

Avoiding stairs, uneven ground, or getting down to the floor is usually the first change people notice, and it quietly removes the everyday practice that kept those things familiar.

Those errands are the actual movements sessions work on: a flight of stairs, a full laundry basket, and a bag in each hand from the driveway to the kitchen.

Training happens in your parent's home on a set schedule, so nothing depends on them driving anywhere, and you can see what is being worked on each week.

This is general fitness coaching, not medical care, diagnosis, or therapy, and it is meant to work alongside your provider's guidance rather than replace it. Sessions stay inside whatever limits they have given you.
